Music at Randall Church
Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
- Psalm 150
Music is an important part of worship at Randall. Through our organizations, hymns, songs, special music, and offertories, we seek to honor God and praise him through our musical gifts. We seek to include many styles in our worship, from classical hymnody to contemporary choruses, from brass quintets to praise bands.
Our goal in all we do is to seek the songs that will encourage the congregation, the texts that will enhance the service, and the medium that will lead in worship best, without focusing on what instrument is being used. From hymns lead by the organ to praise choruses led by a band; from Bach and Handel to Michael W. Smith, we choose to embrace our continuing musical heritage rather than exclude parts of it. Whether you find yourself most moved by a hymn, a chorus, a trumpet, a flute, a piano, or a guitar, music at Randall has a place for you. As one person said when I first arrived at Randall, "if you don't like the style of music being played, just wait a minute, and you'll hear something you do like."
I encourage you to explore this website and learn about the ways you can become involved in the music and worship of Randall Baptist Church. We'd love for you to be a part of our music ministry as we worship our Lord together.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
