Mission
As a church we are passionate in our pursuit to glorify Jesus Christ by making disciples of all nations. There are three key components in this Mission statement.
- God’s Glory
- Make Disciples
- All Nations
GOD’S GLORY
God alone is worthy of our praise. As the Westminster Catechism says, “Man’s chief end is to glorify GOD and enjoy Him forever”. As His children we were saved by HIS grace (Ephesians 2:8-10) and our passion is to glorify His holy name because He alone is the one true GOD. I Peter 2:9-10 9-But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Romans 15:8-10 8For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God’s truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, 9and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.” 10And again it is said,”Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.” Philippians 2:9-11 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
MAKE DISCIPLES
The last challenge Jesus gave on earth was to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 Matthew 28:18-20 is also known as the GREAT COMMISSION, and this is our mission because it was HIS mission. The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:35-40) details the kind of disciples we are to be and to reproduce. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36″Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38This is the great and first commandment. 39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35-40 It is very simple to understand actually, but takes a lifetime to live out. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are to love God, love one another, and love the world. That is the way JESUS lived, and we are called to love and live in the same way. So as a faith family, we have on our heart what is on His heart, some examples are widows, orphans, exploited, oppressed, and hurting to just name a few.
ALL NATIONS
God created man in HIS image therefore all of humanity are His children. God’s heart is that none should perish and that is why He sent His son into the world (John 3:16 and II Peter 3:9). The church is now to continue the work of redemption that Jesus modeled for us while on earth. At Randall, as a faith family we are committed to every tongue, nation, and tribe coming to a saving faith in our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Acts 1:8 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Psalm 67:1-3 1May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, 2that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
